DEEP POOL GUIDE

「DEEP POOL」とは、淵とか深淵とか、文字通り “深いところ” という意味だ。写真は、何かこう、極論めいた答えを含むとんでもないものだと感じることがある。いかなる目的で撮られた写真であっても、それぞれに垣間見れる神がかった何かを感じる。或いは写真へと突き動かされる理由を考え続けるために、そうしたものを写真に見出そうとする癖がついてしまったのだろう。

As the title of this work indicates, photographs sometimes seem like something outrageous, containing extreme answers. No matter what the purpose of photography is, there is a glimpse of something divine in each of them. Or maybe I just developed the habit of trying to find such things in photographs to keep thinking about why I am driven to photography.
